Fabio Liverani is calm over the lack of progress with new contract talks at Palermo.

Palermo management insist they won't be buying a replacement for the midfielder.

"I never told them that they couldn't buy a potential competitor for my place," he told the Giornale di Sicilia. "I have never done something like that and wouldn't dare doing it at Palermo either.

"But I am happy to hear that the President feels I am irreplaceable. We have a good relationship, genuine and honest.

"We have great respect for each others and that's why there is a great feeling."
