Lingard: Man Utd will need to be mentally ready to take on West Ham at Upton Park

Midfielder Jesse Lingard has stated that Manchester United need to be mentally prepared for the battle against West Ham United at Upton Park in midweek.

Following Manchester City's 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Sunday, United will be able to seal a place in the top four this season if they manage to win their remaining two matches.

Doing so will be easier said than done, especially on Tuesday when they square off against West Ham away from home.

United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard has now talked up against the Hammers the importance of the clash and has stated that the Red Devils need to be mentally prepared in order to earn a victory from the encounter in what will be the East London club's final match at the venue.

The 23-year-old said: "The atmosphere was big the last time we were there and this time it will be even bigger. But our main focus is to win the game.

"We have to prepare right mentally as it is going to be a good atmosphere. Hopefully we will get the job done as well."
