Lindelof: I want to win trophies right away with Man Utd

New signing Victor Lindelof has expressed his happiness over his move to Manchester United and he admits he can't wait to start winning trophies.

And he will not have to wait long, with the Red Devils set to face off against Real Madrid in the European Super Cup final on August 8.

The 22-year old completed the move on Wednesday after his former club, Benfica, agreed a £30.7m fee, plus add-ons, with United.

Lindelof arrives as a highly sought after target by Jose Mourinho, who failed with a bid to sign him in January.

The Sweden international had a successful stint at Benfica after moving to Portugal from Swedish club Vasteras SK in 2012.

Despite starting off in Benfica's 'B' team, Lindelof went on to feature in 73 matches for the Aguias and won three Portuguese league titles.

"I am thrilled to be joining Manchester United," Lindelof told MUTV.

"I have enjoyed my time at Benfica enormously and I have learned a lot there. But I'm looking forward to playing in the Premier League at Old Trafford and for Jose Mourinho.

"I'm keen to get started and make my contribution to the team's efforts to win more trophies."

Lindelof will make his debut for United on their pre-season tour of the USA.
