Lille have informed Newcastle United they can sign Thiago Maia - but only in an outright transfer.

Newcastle have been in talks with Lille for much of the summer for the Brazilian.

The Toon have attempted to strike terms over an initial loan, but Lille are now insisting Thiago Maia will only leave for a permanent sale.

Lille have told Newcastle they can sign the Rio gold medal winner for €25m.

West Ham also made enquiries after Thiago Maia with Lille earlier this summer.
