Newcastle United remain determined to land Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare.

The youngster turned down a move to Newcastle last month, despite Lille accepting an offer for him in the final week of the winter market. The Toon's proposal was for a fee rising to €60m.

Newcastle, reports Le 10 Sport, are ready to try again and have turned Soumare's head with their contract offer.

The Magpies are offering to double Soumare's salary to €2m - and the 20 year-old is warming to the idea of a move to the Northeast.

Lille snapped up Soumare on a free transfer from PSG in 2017.
