Lewtas pleased as Stewart scored four goals in Liverpool friendly defeat of Fleetwood

Liverpool striker Layton Stewart scored four goals in a friendly win against Fleetwood Town on Friday.

The match was held at the Academy and the young Reds put the League One side to the sword in a high scoring 7-4 victory.

Liverpool-born Stewart made his first team debut in the Carabao Cup third round win over Derby County after recovering from a 13-month lay off due to an ACL injury.

U21s head coach Barry Lewtas told Liverpoolfc.com: "It was great to give the lads some minutes and it was a very good performance.

"Fleetwood scored three late goals, but overall we played very well. Layton is getting sharper and sharper and he's full of confidence after making his first-team debut."
