Lewis Dunk: I can meet England ambitions with Brighton - as can 2 teammates

Brighton captain Lewis Dunk believes he can fulfill his England ambitions at Falmer stadium.

He reckons colleagues Adam Webster and Ben White can have the same ambition.

Dunk said: “The pinnacle of football is playing for your country and having those three lions on your chest. I thankfully had the opportunity once.

“Hopefully there is more to come and I have just got to make sure I keep working hard in training, staying fit and proving I'm good enough in the Premier League to play for England.

“I think I am becoming more understanding of the game and you just learn more. More experience is better for you.

“The older I am getting, I feel I am getting better.

“Hopefully I can keep getting better and showing what I can do and hopefully I get that call from Gareth again one day."

On Webster and White, Dunk added: “They are both young - 25 and 22.

"I made my (England) debut at 27 (actually six days before his 27th birthday) so they have got extra years on me to get into the squad and they are playing higher up than I was at that age.

“They are playing in the Premier League and I was in the Championship.

“They have got high hopes if they carry on as they are to follow in my footsteps and play for England."
