Lewandowski scores 40 season goals once again as Bayern Munich defeat Union Berlin

Robert Lewandowski made it 40 goals for the fifth successive season after netting in Bayern Munich's 2-0 win over Union Berlin on Sunday.

The Pole showed no signs of rust after the Bavarians returned to action for the first-time since March.

He scored with a penalty on the 40th minute mark, after Leon Goretzka was fouled in the box by Neven Subotic.

It took his total to 40 goals from just 34 appearances tbis season.

Speaking about the win, Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer said: "We didn't show our best side in terms of play.

"But we dominated the game and deservedly take the three points home with us."
