Levante defender Tono: Prison was a nightmare

Levante defender Tono spoke to the media after being released from prison this week.

After being held in custody for three weeks on suspicion of extortion and threats, the Spaniard has been released on bail and will immediately return to work with his club.

"I've lived through a nightmare, I went from a happy life to being in prison without understand why," Tono admitted.

"I had my freedom taken away from me due to suspicion.

"I may have made a mistake, I'm a confident person and I haven't thought about the people I was with, perhaps I should have protected myself more. "

With that being said, the Spaniard firmly believes that he was unfairly treated and he intends to prove his innocence.

"They have made the leap from my mistakes to suggesting I belong to a criminal organisation," Tono stated.

"That I am dedicated to money laundering, that's simply another world.

"These leaps are absolutely false and I will prove it."
