Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner is willing to listen to offers for the club.
The Daily Mail says Lerner will finally sell up at the end of the season, provided his troubled club stay in the top flight.
He is said to be considering significant offers for Villa from Russia and the United States, having fallen out of love with English football.
Certainly Lerner, who after a change in his personal life spends far more time than he used to at home in the United States, would be a willing seller at the right price.
But he is known to want a massive £250million for Villa to recoup the near £60m he paid for the club in 2006 and the £200m he has invested since. It's highly unlikely anyone would be prepared to pay that figure and any Russian bid is fraught with uncertainly due to the country's volatile political situation.
