Leonardo confident Juventus defeat just blip for Inter Milan

Inter Milan boss Leonardo is confident defeat to Juventus was only a blip.

Alessandro Matri grabbed the only goal of the game.

"We struggled to create chances in the first half. Juve played very well, remained united and it was difficult to break through their lines," said the Coach.

"After the break we did much better and spent the entire time pushing forward, but Juve defended firmly and tried to make themselves dangerous on the counter.

"Eto'o wasn't the problem, as in general we passed the ball around too slowly, so the forwards didn't have much support. I expected Juventus to do this well, as you could see they were improving."

Inter had been closing the gap on leaders Milan, but have now slipped back with an eight-point gap, albeit a game in hand.

"I honestly think this changes nothing," assured Leonardo. "Just look at the results of recent weeks. We are a squad who fight hard and on Wednesday have another opportunity against Fiorentina.

"I saw a positive performance, especially in the second half, and am fairly satisfied. We lacked sharpness in general and did not start at our usual tempo."
