Lens defender Facundo Medina: I dream of success with Man Utd or AC Milan

Lens defender Facundo Medina admits he has ambitions of playing for Manchester United, Real Madrid or AC Milan.

The Argentina international has been scouted by both United and Milan over the past 18 months. Argentine Medina moved to Lens from CA Talleres in a €3.5m deal in 2019 and his form has already brought him to the attention of scouts across Europe.

While not a priority, United have now added Medina to their shortlist of targets.

Medina has a contract with Lens to 2024. He came through the youth system at Argentine giants River Plate, though needed to move to CA Tallares to launch his first team career.

The 22 year-old had two years with CA Tallares before being spotted and signed by Lens.

Medina told Tiempo via Le 10 Sport, "I dream of winning with the national team. Then, be it United, Real Madrid, Milan or one of those big clubs. Today, my head is in Lens. I am comfortable and happy, enjoying the group and the season.

"It's not easy for a newly promoted team to fight in their first season in the top 5 in Ligue 1. I cling to the fact that I'm here today, I give what I have and what that I can. I'm doing well whether or not they are negotiating with other clubs.

"I don't like this atmosphere. I focus my mind on the day-to-day workouts."

This season, Medina has managed 21 appearances for Lens, scoring three times. The centre-half won a first Argentina cap in October. Lionel Scaloni rewarded the youngster on the back of an impressive Olympics qualifying campaign with the nation's U23 team.
