Lennon praises 'exceptional' Celtic after Motherwell win

Celtic boss Neil Lennon was quick to praise his side after they orchestrated an impressive 2-0 victory over Motherwell on the weekend.

Goals from Anthony Stokes and Kris Commons catapulted the reigning champions back to the top of the Scottish Premier League table and the overall showing at Celtic Park was something that really pleased a proud Lennon.

The Bhoys manager singled out the goalscorers as well as defenders Virgil van Dijk and Efe Ambrose for their stellar performances in the triumph.

"Our display was exceptional against a good side," he said.

"We scored two exquisite goals. Kris Commons and Anthony Stokes were exceptional in the forward roles.

"Virgil van Dijk is also playing very well. He and Efe Ambrose give us an extra dimension because they can step out with the ball at their feet."
