Leicester winger Lookman officially switches allegiances from England to Nigeria

England U20 World Cup winner Ademola Lookman is changing his national side to Nigeria.

The winger has not played for the England senior team, which means he was eligible to switch allegiances.

He will now officially play for Nigeria after his application to change nationality was approved by FIFA.

And Lookman is likely to be involved as soon as possible for his new nation.

The 24-year-old is born to Nigerian parents, and was unlikely to ever make the England senior squad.

Nigerian Football Federation chief scout Tunde Adelakun told BBC Sport Africa in November: "We are aware of Lookman's desire to play for us and I have spoken to him as well. However, there is a process to it.

"After this process, then comes the consideration and decision of the head coach (Gernot Rohr) on whether or when he deems it fit to get him involved."
