Leicester City winger Demarai Gray believes that England are the best team at the European under-21 Championship.

England suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat after a late own goal from fullback Aaron Wan-Bissaka in their first game.

However, Gray believes that England's youngsters will prove their quality in their coming game against Romania.

He said to reporters: "Everyone is hurting but the spirit is fine.

"No one is on to each other, no one is down. We are a good group. We have spirit and quality in the team.

"We dominated the game, but having 10 men killed us a little bit.

"But circumstances get like that and we lost it at the end. But the boys will fight and recover and work towards Romania.

"I believe we are the best team here. We have lost in an unfortunate way but there is still every chance to go through."

England need a win if they are to progress beyond the group stages of the tournament.
