Leicester veteran Schmeichel reveals hatred for proposed Super League competition

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is not a fan of the proposed European Super League.

A total of 12 European teams have decided to make a breakaway league that would replace the Champions League.

The league would have 20 teams in total, with a proposed 15 founding members and five spots on merit for teams to qualify each season.

Current teams include the Premier League "big six", Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan.

Asked about the plans by talkSPORT, Schmeichel said: "A club like Leicester, being able to do what we've done over the 10 years I've been here, it's something unique and I'd hate to see a system put in place where the smaller clubs or the underdogs may not be able to get the limelight."
