Leicester City U21 thumped Manchester City 6-2 yesterday.
Leicester drafted in plenty of experience, with over-age stars Danny Simpson and Anthony Knockaert being joined by on-loan Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell and former Reds youngster Tom Lawrence.
The Blues were 4-0 down inside 18 minutes as a Lawrence double, one a penalty, and goals from Jak McCourt, and Joe Dodoo had them reeling.
Sinan Bytyqi struck a post with a free kick, but it was Leicester who roared forward again , Lawrence seeing an effort cleared off the line by Shay Facey before City old boy Kieran Kennedy made it 5-0.
Sub Thierry Ambrose struck to make it 5-1 at half-time but Tom Hopper headed in McCourt's free-kick to restore Leicester's cushion.
Jose Angel Pozo had a chip cleared off the line by Alie Sesay before Bytyqi grabbed a late second.
