Leicester to stay with Schmeichel, Schwarzer following Hamer loan

Kasper Schmeichel and Mark Schwarzer are the first and second goalkeepers at Leicester City respectively, reveals manager Claudio Ranieri.

The Foxes recently allowed Ben Hamer to join Championship side Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan deal.

The departure of Hamer means that Leicester only have two senior goalkeepers in their ranks and while Ranieri has stated that the duo of Schmeichel and Schwarzer are his two first choice custodians, he is currently in the market to sign a new goalkeeper.

Ranieri said: "Now we are looking for another goalkeeper.

"Hamer deserves to play, last season he played very well when he played but it wasn't right to maintain him for the third goalkeeper. The No.1 is Kasper, the other is Schwarzer."
