Leicester City title winner Robert Huth has explained hanging up his boots last year.

The German, also formerly of Chelsea, Middlesbrough and Stoke City, admits he simply lost his enthusiasm for the game.

He told Tagesspiegel: “I put everything into it: before training, before the game. I had to know everything there was to know about football.

"I now have the feeling that I just have to get away from football.

"At the end of my career, I was just fed up."
