Leicester striker Iheanacho delighted with goal in Cup win against Millwall

Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho was delighted with his goal in their Carabao Cup win against Millwall.

It was his second goal of the season, adding to his match-winning spot-kick in the FA Community Shield.

"It was a sweet goal, a rocket, and we're happy with that," he told LCFC TV. "It was team work and we're happy going into the next round. We put the work in today. We defended really good in the last 10 minutes and we got the first goal early in the second half.

"We got the second goal, so we're happy. I'm happy with the goal and we're looking forward to the next round. I didn't see Patson [Daka]. If I saw him, I would've passed to him, but he'll be happy with the goal, but if I missed that one, I think he'd be fuming. Anyways, next time I will pass to Patson!"

Iheanacho was also pleased to see new team-mate Ademola Lookman open his account for City on 50 minutes after the Nigerian's effort was parried by Lions goalkeeper George Long into the loanee's path.

"It was a good counter-attack from the team and I took the ball well and tried to put it in the bottom corner, but the 'keeper parried it," Leicester's No.14 added. "Ade finished it well. It was a difficult finish, a difficult technique, but he guided it in, so it's a good finish.

"It was a really tough game. They're a good side, they gave us a good game. It wasn't easy in the first half, but in the second half, the space was there. We got our chances and we saw it through."
