Leicester star Vardy subject of new documentary from Oscar-winning filmmakers

Leicester City star Jamie Vardy is set to feature as the star of a box office film.

Vardy and his teammates missed out on a place in the Champions League, losing 4-2 to Tottenham at home on the final day of the Premier League season.

They did win the FA Cup this season, and Vardy's rise from the lower leagues is one that has always drawn a lot of attention from fans.

Los Angeles-based Brit Adrian Butchart, who is a producer and writer, is making the movie with The King's Speech's Gareth-Ellis Unwin and Simon Egan.

Butchart wrote the scripts for the first two "Goal" franchise movies, and has been in talks with Vardy about his story.

The veteran was a factory worker at one stage, but rose through non-league and then lower league football to win the Premier League title with Leicester.
