Danny Drinkwater wants Jason Statham to play his role in Jamie Vardy's upcoming movie.

A film on Vardy's remarkable career is in the pipeline at the moment and it is widely expected that the striker's close friend and teammate Drinkwater will also feature in the story.

Drinkwater is looking forward to the film and has stated that he wants Hollywood superstar Statham, of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Crank fame, to play his role in the movie.

The Leicester midfielder said: "I hope he has not got me a s*** actor.

"I'm sure the film will be good. Jason Statham is English. He is a good actor and his missus (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley) is a worldie as well, so I'll take him."
