Leicester City are chasing Atalanta defender Timothy Castagne.

The Foxes believe Castagne could be a potential replacement for Ricardo Pereira, who is expected to attract interest from across Europe this summer.

But Napoli have now entered the race for the defender, with newspaper Corriere di Bergamo reporting that they're ready to bid £17.5 million for the Belgian, whose contract expires in June 2021, says the Daily Mail.

The 24-year-old has impressed during his three seasons at the club since he joined from Genk in a £5.7 million deal in 2017.

Last season, Castagne played a starring role as Atalanta secured Champions League qualification, scoring five goals in 35 appearances from a right-back position.
