Leicester midfielder Tielemans: Jardim didn't want me at Monaco

Youri Tielemans says Leonardo Jardim did not have him in his plans at Monaco.

Jardim returned to the principality club to replace Thierry Henry.

Belgium international Tielemans was loaned out to Leicester City for the remainder of the season, and made his debut against Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday.

"As you know there was a change of coach and they wanted to change the team," explained Tielemans.

"They said to me they wanted to change things to save the club from relegation and they said to me I was a player they wanted to change so it was best for me to find somewhere new and experience a new competition.

"It fitted in for me too and Leicester were interested.

"I knew the second season in Monaco would be better for me. Unfortunately the team didn't get better and we have some troubles in general, but individually I played some good games, some bad games too.

"That is normal in the process but I just want to get better here at Leicester."
