Leicester City matchwinner Jamie Vardy was delighted with victory at Everton.
The Foxes won 1-0 at Goodison Park thanks to Vardy's winner.
“We needed to put our last performance behind us ," he told Sky Sports.
"We were disappointed last home game, so to come away and get three points is a great start (to the year)."
On the goal, Vardy added: “Ricky's (Pereira) seen me straight away, one touch, slotted me through, we tried it a few times in the game but he's been excellent all season.
"A great assist for him and I'm just glad it went into the net."
Vardy revealed a new celebration, a cartwheel followed by a somersault.
“I had it in the locker for a while and thought I would save it for a special occasion, what better than New Year's Day," he said.
"New year, new me!"
