Leicester matchwinner Demarai Gray: I did it all for Vichai

Leicester City matchwinner Demarai Gray dedicated victory over Cardiff City to the memory of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Gray struck the only goal of the game ten minutes into the second-half against the Bluebirds and immediately pledged the three points to the Thai businessman.

“I put everything in for Vichai," he said. “He was the reason I was on that pitch today and everyone's happy we got that win for him.

“He changed my life. He changed everyone's life in the dressing-room. Even the fans who live and die for the club. We owed him. All to him. Everyone out there, we ran for him, fought for him.

“He cared about us as players. That's why we are such a tight-knit group and we have a family feeling. That's why it has had such a big effect on us.

“He got such respect because of the man he was. You don't hear about owners being as involved as he was.

“That's why it was hard to focus before the game. Pretty much every Saturday he would come in before the game and wish us well.

“He never wore a dull face. He was always smiling – every time I saw him. That's what makes it so difficult because all of the players shared a relationship with him."
