Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers hopes the club can tie down Youri Tielemans to a new contract.
The Belgian, 24, scored the winning goal in the FA Cup final win over Chelsea last season, and has been linked with Liverpool.
The Foxes have reportedly extended a contract offer to Tielemans, which would see him earn £100,000-a-week.
Asked about keeping Tielemans, Rodgers said: "I hope we can have him for longer. Jon (Rudkin, director of football) is meeting with his representatives.
"He is a top-class professional, a great guy and someone I love working with. He is very focused on his football and doesn't get sidetracked at all."
