Brendan Rodgers says it was important for Leicester City to find their way back to form against Birmingham City on Wednesday.

Rodgers picked a strong side to face the Blues, having entered the match without a win in their last five outings.

It paid off as the Foxes rolled out 1-0 winners thanks to Marc Albrighton's late strike.

"It was important for us to get back to our game tonight," Rodgers said. Every team has a blip and every team has a little wobble at some point when results go a little bit. The players have been incredible and their honesty will get them back to their level.

"In the second half, that was much more like us, with the speed and intensity.

"I thought it was a case of trying to get our rhythm back. We've slipped up in a few games recently. It was really important to get our performance back and to give the guys that confidence of getting a win.

"You can make the mistake of making too many changes and then you're bringing in guys that are not playing a great deal.

"It's unfair if you expose them to that. So the idea was to keep the nucleus of the team and then make a few changes."
