Leicester City manager Claude Puel does not believe it is the ideal moment for his team to bring in players.
While he suggests that Leicester are attempting to conduct a few deals, it is never easy to bring in the right players midseason.
And he does not want to sign someone who is little more than a panic buy, as it would just mean having to offload the player in six to twelve months.
"It's always the same position for me," said Puel in his press conference.
"We look for opportunities but it's never the right transfer window, the right window. Players are not available, not match fit or are in difficulty with their club.
"We need to keep our focus for the next transfer window and see what good options we have to strengthen our squad without pressure.
"This window is never a good situation. Maybe to give a player an early start and teach good habits. But not a good time – not a good opportunity unless you are a team in difficulty, then it gives you an opportunity.
"We don't speak with this feeling that we have this amount to spend in the transfer window. It is more important to talk if there is good opportunities.
"Of course if we can strengthen it is a different aspect of course. Like any other manager, I'd like the best team and squad possible, but I have the ability to work to my direction and realise sometimes this is not possible.
"We have information to improve the team in the future. If this is not right period then we will be wise."
