Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford could be involved in a behind-closed-doors friendly during the international break.
Rashford has been sidelined since undergoing surgery on his left shoulder on August 6 that forced him to miss the start of the season.
He is due to have a consultation with doctors on Friday and, assuming there are no complications, is expected to be given the go-ahead to resume contact training.
If he comes through the friendly unscathed, he could be included in the squad for the trip to Leicester in the Premier League on October 16.
Rashford was not forecast to return until the end of next month after initially being ruled out for up to 12 weeks but his recovery is ahead of schedule.
