Leicester keeper Schmeichel touted as De Gea replacement at Man Utd

Manchester United will consider a move for Leicester City star Kasper Schmeichel if David de Gea leaves, according to reports from The Sun.

With Real Madrid having been banned from any transfer activity for the upcoming summer and next winter, they are set to ramp up their pursuit of top targets this month and it is expected that Los Blancos will try their best to lure De Gea from Old Trafford.

United are aware of the strong possibility of De Gea's departure and now according to reports, it has been claimed that the Red Devils will be pursuing Leicester number one Schmeichel if they lose the Spaniard this month.

Kasper's father Peter is a United legend who won five Premier League titles, three FA Cups and the Champions League among other titles during his spell with the club between 1991 and 1999.
