Leicester fullback Pereira: Goal thanks to Rodgers advice

Leicester City fullback Ricardo Pereira heeded the advice of Brendan Rodgers to score his first goal of the Premier League season against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Portuguese equalised for the Foxes in their 2-1 comeback win over Spurs at the King Power last Saturday.

"Everybody is happy with the win," said Ricardo to the Leicester Mercury. "After a loss [against Manchester United] it was important, in front of our fans and in our stadium, to win and to get back to a victory.

"We were really frustrated about the [United] game and our performance. But we bounced back. We worked hard in the week to do better, and that's what we did.

"Looking to the previous game, the coach talked with me to attack more, to not lose that side of attacking and that's what I tried to do.

"He told me on Friday to not lose that, to keep going and help the team in attack. It was good [to score], I hope he says that every week!"
