Leicester City are leading the race to sign AS Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes, according to Italian outlet Sport Mediaset.

The report claims that the Foxes are keen on the 22-year-old and are currently preparing a £18.9million bid for his services.

A report from talkSPORT claimed last Friday that Liverpool and Manchester City were also interested in Paredes, who has a contract until 2019 with Roma.

But it looks as though Claudio Ranieri may further strengthen his title-winning squad by luring the Argentine, who spent last season on loan with Empoli, to the King Power Stadium.
