Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu has hyped up his national teammate Merih Demiral.

The latter was a serious transfer target for Leicester City in the January window.

They were unable to sign him from Juventus, as he is now a starting player at the Italian club. And Soyuncu believes that Demiral is a defender of the highest quality.

Speaking about Demiral, Soyuncu told Turkish outlet Fotomac: "If the two of us were of the same character, we could not be so successful. He covers for me and I cover for him.

"I'm playing with Evans right now. He is the leading centre-back who organises the back four.

"He has been in the Premier League for 12 years, and nine with Manchester United.

"He is very helpful, I have learned a lot from him."
