Leicester caretaker boss Appleton: I can handle this after Portsmouth

Leicester City caretaker manager Michael Appleton says he can handle the job.

Portsmouth slid into administration during Appleton's first managerial assignment. Then he spent just 65 days at Blackpool and 67 at Blackburn, with both clubs in turmoil behind the scenes, before he proved his credentials with three successful seasons at Oxford.

“The first 12 months of my career was spent dealing with administrators on a daily basis - two administrations at Pompey," said Appleton.

“And then I had a little bit of a crazy spell for about six months, which I try to forget a little bit.

“But the bits I do remember I use as part of the experience going forward."
