Leicester boss Smith admits tactical change for West Ham

Leicester City boss Dean Smith is planning a tactical change today against West Ham.

The Foxes need a win to have any chance of staying up.

After a defensive performance for last week's draw at Newcastle, Smith said: “My biggest problem is that it looked like we were playing for a draw but I didn't go and play for the draw. We played to keep it tight and stay in the game for 60 minutes, which we haven't been doing over the last couple of games, but we never retained the ball well enough when we regained it and that was probably my biggest problem with the system.

“But we had to play a certain way against Newcastle and what we did was restricted Newcastle to perhaps the last five minutes of the first half where they've had a couple of chances from set pieces.

“People have said we were lucky in that game but I would also say that they were lucky because they certainly should have had a man sent off in the first 10 minutes.

“We have got to win the game plainly and simply, we have got to figure out and balance the best way to not give big chances away and create big chances against West Ham, who are in a European final and after a tough first half of the season have climbed away from danger and have got a very good manager there."
