Leicester boss Rodgers: Vardy ready for Liverpool; best signing ever?

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers paid tribute to Jamie Vardy ahead of today's clash with Liverpool.

Rodgers has declared Vardy is fit and ready to start - and responded to talk of him being the best signing of the century.

He said, "His path is unique, I can't see anyone else like that. His movement and his hunger is still there, and when he's fit he's a real threat. He's still got a few years in him to be a top striker at the top level. You always have to forward plan in terms of bringing other players in. While I have Vardy here, I am happy he is at the level he is and will be for the next couple of years.

“At the time £1m was a lot for a player from non-league but if you look at what he has done for Leicester. His legacy here will be his journey and what he's given on the pitch. We wanted to give him game-time on Wednesday. He and Wilf are ready for 90 minutes."
