Leicester boss Rodgers spending time learning club history and culture

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers says he's been spending the week learning about the club's history.

Rodgers says the exercise reminded him that success was "a moving target".

“It is nice just getting that sense of the history of the club," he said.

“I spoke to Birch (club ambassador Alan Birchenall) and the staff the other morning. I had some lunch with them and we went back to when the club was in administration.

“Going back to what the club is now and going forward, but those days it is so important not to forget the history of the club and where it is at.

“I was told a story about one of the young ladies in the laundry who was told she was going to lose her job at that time but the players rallied round and paid her wages for six months until the club was out of administration and she kept her job.

“I am finding out all these stories and there are the legends of football and how a club functions.

“It is so important everyone understands that because when things go well and the success of Leicester, you have to understand success is a moving target."
