Leicester boss Rodgers offers hope to Morgan

New Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers isn't writing off skipper Wes Morgan.

Morgan had fallen out of favour in recent weeks under Claude Puel and his contract with City expires at the end of this season.

"Wes is the club captain. If he doesn't play then of course it'll be someone else," said Rodgers.

"But Wes is a wonderful leader, I had a real long chat with him and he's going to be very, very important for me, even if he's not playing.

"He's at that age, he's 35, where I look to him in training and he's still strong, he's still powerful, he can really be a great leader in the changing room, similar to Scott Brown.

"I always work closely with my captain. It's very important that you're in tune with each other, and then you can work and manage the group."
