Claudio Ranieri admits he is disappointed by N'Golo Kante's transfer to Chelsea.
The French midfielder, who was one of Leicester City's stars as they won the Premier League last season, has departed the King Power Stadium to join the Blues for a fee of around £30million.
While former Blues boss Ranieri feels Kante went against his guidance, he acknowledges that a club like Chelsea holds a reverence too much for some players to turn down.
"I hoped for them to stay and listen to all my advice: we all live the adventure of champions together, then next summer be free to make different choices," the Italian told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"However, I realise that the lure of a club like Chelsea cannot leave a player indifferent."
