Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has backed midfielder Esteban Cambiassio to lead from the front in the Foxes' battle against relegation.
?Throughout his career, Inter Milan great Cambiasso has consistently contended for honors and being involved in a relegation dogfight with Leicester this season is certainly uncharted territory for the decorated Argentine midfielder.
?However, Pearson has backed Cambiasso to lead from the front and has stated that the 34-year old will not shy away from the challenge ahead of him.
?Pearson said: "He's been very, very positive and you could argue it is a unique experience for him. As you find with most players who are successful, they have a mentality that allows them to deal with the situation.
?"Will he be enjoying it? He will be absolutely focused on coming out of this with a positive outcome. He's committed to us achieving what is a very difficult task, and that says a lot about his character and desire to play at the best level he can.
?"I'm very pleased to have him. He trains with the same standards as he plays. That's a quality that is very easily underplayed.
?"He continually does that. Your senior players are very important. They have to manage the dressing room. It always helps when you have players who accept high standards and won't accept mediocrity."?
