Leicester boss Pearson coy over plans for West Brom striker Wood

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson is coy over interest in West Bromwich Albion striker Chris Wood.

The New Zealand striker has been prolific while on loan at npower Championship rivals Millwall this term and, while Pearson admits he is ready to do business next month, he would not confirm Wood was on his wish-list.

"As always I don't join in with the speculation until any business is done," he said.

"If the right players are available and we can do it then yes (we will do business). I'm not going to bring players in for the sake of it.

"We've got players who are capable of scoring goals at the club. At the moment we've not been taking our chances.

"We've created quite a few chances in the past few games and not taken them.

"If the right players are available and we can do the deals then maybe we'll do them.

"Clearly we would like to be scoring. Sometimes you have to go through spells like that. If the players keep working hard we'll come through that."
