Leicester City are opening contract talks with veteran centre-back Jonny Evans.
The Northern Irishman has been a stalwart for the Foxes since arriving from West Bromwich Albion in 2018.
The 32-year-old is in the last year of his contract.
According to The Athletic, Leicester want to get him tied down to a new deal, and talks have opened between both parties.
There is a mutual desire to get the deal done, which means Evans should spend at least the next couple of seasons with Leicester.
Evans has enjoyed a successful career in English football, with his best years coming at Manchester United.
He broke through in 2008 with the Red Devils, and was a key member of the squad until he left for West Brom in 2015.
