Leicester ace Maddison proud of double in Forest thumping

Leicester City ace James Maddison was delighted after their 4-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest.

Maddison scored twice on Monday night.

He said, "It feels good and it was very much needed. Confidence has been a bit low in the camp but everything felt right about the game tonight.

"We've worked long and hard in training. It's a unique game for the fans and supporters because it's a derby, so it's nice to send the fans home happy.

"My strength is being between the lines, so we worked a lot on me being able to pick up on those pockets.

"I think that's something I've improved on massively tactically. But I can't just run around wherever I want, the Gaffer allows me freedom but not that much!

"You can see on my face just how much it means. That first goal was crucial for us."

On missing out on an England call-up, he added: "It's been a weird position for us at the bottom but I feel at my most confident at the minute. Playing for England is my ambition. An opportunity at that level is one that I hope will come my way at some point and I would love.

"I have a self belief that I'm a top player and that I can be in that category. I'll keep working hard and I need to have the mindset of forcing my way in. But I think there could be a space for me so I'll just keep producing performances like tonight and doing it for Leicester. Then we'll see."
