Leicester ace Maddison: I'm better for Rodgers arrival

James Maddison has seen a marked improvement in his own game since Brendan Rodgers became manager of Leicester City.

Maddison has become an England international thanks to his impressive performances for the Foxes this season.

And the playmaker, who has attracted the interest of Manchester United, has credited Rodgers with aiding his development.

"That's why I say I'm improving as a player, because to be able to play different roles is important for the team," Maddison said after the 1-1 draw with his former club Norwich.

"It keeps you in the system, you don't want to be a player who plays one particular position. So when the team don't play in that formation, you're still in the team.

"You've got to be a learner and a listener to take on other roles and other responsibilities so you're always in the team for starters.

"I'm a much better player here since he became my manager.

"Tactically, my understanding of the game, different positions, roles and responsibilities in those positions, scoring goals, out of possession, blocking, tackling and I'm fitter."
