Leganes hold Atletico Madrid to stalemate

Atletico Madrid were held 0-0 by Leganes at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday.

Leganes were slightly better in the first half and had the first chance of the match in the 11th minute, when Jan Oblak stopped Martin Braithwaite's shot from the edge of the box.

Atletico didn't create any danger in front of the opposition goal until midway through the first period, when an Angel Correa strike went over the bar.

Alvaro Morata's effort was saved by Ivan Cuellar just before the break and the home side struggled to create many noteworthy chances from then on.

Atletico asked for penalty in the second half after Vitolo went down in the box, but the referee Mateu Lahoz waved away the protests.

A big chance fell to Ivan Saponjic in stoppage time, but the striker blazed a free header over the bar.
