Leeds United have decided against signing former Watford defender Joel Ekstrand, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Ekstrand was released by Watford at the end of last season following an injury-hit campaign but it seemed like the Swedish defender would be handed a wonderful chance to revive his career in the Championship with Leeds.
However, Leeds boss Garry Monk has decided against making a move for Ekstrand due to fitness concerns and the 27-year-old will have to wait a bit longer in his search to find a new club this summer.
Ekstrand is a target for other second tier clubs with reports suggesting Reading and Bristol City are keen.
