John Swift has rejected a new contract offer from Reading.
The midfielder has long been on the radar of Leeds United.
Leeds-Live says Reading could be more likely to sell one of their important assets after he rejected their new contract offer.
Swift's current deal runs out at the end of the campaign and may be available for a cut-price in January after the Royals previously wanted £7m, but that figure seems unlikely to be met considering these fresh circumstances.
It could therefore be a much lower fee, which would suit the Whites, who have often been reluctant to spend a lot in the winter window since manager Marcelo Bielsa joined in 2018.
