Leeds striker Bamford: I'm now Lord Patrick Bamford!

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has been made a Lord!

Bamford is now officially Lord of Hougun Manor in Cumbria after Leeds fans James Bushnell Senior and his son James bought him the title.

The striker has scored 16 goals to help Leeds enjoy their best season since 2002 and joked he wants to be introduced as Lord Patrick Bamford.

“I've got a piece of land somewhere in Cumbria," he said on Leeds' podcast. “I don't know if I will ever visit it, but I'd like to say thank you.

“I've told everyone I need to be introduced as Lord Patrick Bamford.

“I think it's a great idea, although obviously it's not helping me with the stereotype!"

James Senior said: “I was on YouTube and this advert came up and it said you can become a Lord by buying the title.

“You get a small piece of land and technically you become a Lord.

“We were then watching the football and at half-time it came into my mind, wouldn't it be a good idea if we got Patrick Bamford a Lordship? It's well deserved."
