Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday go for Wolves captain Danny Batth

Wolves captain Danny Batth has offers from Championship clubs.

The Mirror says Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday are in a fight to snap up Batth before the loan window closes.

Centre-back Batth is surplus to requirements at Molineux after falling down the pecking order following the signing of Belgium World Cup ace Leander Dendoncker from Anderlecht.

Dendoncker has been pencilled in for a role on the right side of a back three - the position in which he made his debut in Wanderers' 2-0 Carabao Cup win over the Owls on Tuesday night.

That leaves Batth, 27, as boss Nuno Espirito Santo's fifth choice central defender.
